By the way, as I was looking for distribution of the dragonfly, I
came up with several references to their behaviour. Simply put,
they don't and can't sting, but they could bite if cornered or grabbed,
although they probably would't break the skin. The chance of one
landing on you and biting - Zero.

The CC site soon will be posting a collection of Butterflies from
Culebra - you will be amazed at this expanded little world
you never knew existed!

Here's a tease and remember it's from Culebra!

It is called a Longtail Skipper

Butterflies.  Making our lives a little more colorful and interesting.

Wifey is fairly expert at butterfly gardens.  I'll see if she can pass along any advice as to their cultivation.  Does anyone know which horticultural zone Culebra is in?

Also, I live about a mile from the Butterfly House.  It has been a couple years since I was there, but I'm certain there is a research department with library.  Since it is closely affiliated with the Missouri Botanical Garden, I think my membership entitles me to access to those resources. Glad to help if I can.

Doug

Birth of a cocktail...By NYE, I'll have invented a new rum drink called the Butterfly.  If you only drink socially, it'll be a Social Butterfly.
