I've heard from two people today that the gate Victor put up was taken down by the municipality today. I haven't been out there, but it's a GOOD day for Culebra and I'm sure there will be more details and pictures by others soon to come.

The municipal has taken down the obstructions, chains, and rocks
from the muellecito area. The have left the four column "tower"
for a few more days. We are at the end of the 30day appeal period
and the Mayor is keeping his promise and implementing the order
by ACDEC to clear this mess up. Congrats to Willito who supervised.Attachment: muellecito.jpg (Downloaded 28 times)

The Culebra Calendar will have a follow-up story in the March
Issue. A celebration by locals is scheduled for this Sunday at
1:00PM. Community activists are "high-Fivin" each other!

In truth, two humpbacks have been cavorting in the Cayo Norte channel, just down below the Knowltons. They have been circling, spouting, calling, even singing loudly enough to be heard all the way up their house. A Culebra boat (?whose?) happened to be out there and has been "playing" with the whales for about 20 minutes. What a fantastic sight.

| FANTASTIC!!!!! How particularly wonderful that the Municipio has kept their word that if Victor didn't take the barriers down, they would.

Wow! Great news about the gate!! So glad to hear good news on that battle!
You are making my heart ache to be there talking about the humpbacks in the Cayo Norte channel. Don't suppose there is any chance anyone could get any pics? Can't wait to be back, 28 days and counting...... any chance we might see any at the end of March?
