With great sadness, I'm sorry to have to report that Dr. Fred lost his courageous fight, and went on to the heavens last night. He was one of a kind, and one of the most special, beautiful humans I've ever met. My heart goes out to the entire Culebra community, but most of all to Joyce and his family. What a loss for all of us. They just don't make 'em like Dr. Fred much anymore.
the only comfort I can get is the slight smile I get when I think about the hell Lana is giving him as I type this....

| Dr. Fred was one of the most caring and generous members of the greater Culebra community, as is his wife Joyce. They were always "there" to share their medical skills and to be supportive of anyone needing a strong shoulder. Yeah -- Doc and Lana must be having a ball together.

We wanted to let each of you know that we attended the memorial service for Dr. Fred in Greenbriar, Arkansas yesterday afternoon. It was a beautiful service, a beautiful day, and many kind and wonderful things were said about our good friend.
Bobby Bowyer was there (who recently lost his wife Courtney), Ken and Catherine, the originators of The Culebra Calendar, and Steve and Chris. It was good to be together with some "island folks" and catch up with them and spend time with Joyce and her family.
We'll miss Fred. We're thankful to have had the opportunity to know him.
