Unless the baby does  a backward flip tonight, and that would be just fine, Zach and Monika will be heading over to Fajardo tomorrow early a.m. for the *assisted* birth of this long awaited bambino. I don't have the time (and neither do they) it will happen, just assuming sometime tomorrow - so start your good vibes, prayers and positive wishes now for Mama and baby (and Zach too, who is tap dancing with anticipation). Kelly and Dian will be going over with them.

As soon as I know anything more (I've told Zach he's allowed to call the parents first and then me next!), I'll post it here.

LOL....I heard from an insider that Zach might be the most anxious (is that the right verb???)......

keep us posted....I'll start the easy push dance in a few hours......figure I'll let them get to Farjardo first, because Zach might lose it if things started on the way to Farjardo....

glad Kelly and Dion will be with them.....

oh baby!!!:D

oh wait, I just realized....I'm willing to bet that Grandpa-to-Be is the most nervous right now -- for some reason, I just don't see him being calm about this.....:P

Cool - I was wondering if that little bambino had arrived yet. Let us know the details when you get them.

Can someone translate this for my poor, male, clueless brain?  Who's having the baby? Is it safe to assume there are at least two Monika's on Culebra?

Doug

and we wonder how rumors get started. :P Yes, there are two Monika's -- the one that is very preggo (or at least to my knowledge we are being spared a little Walter:D) is Mamacita (in more ways that one) Monika and Zach, the father-to-be (or at least that's what we've been told).

How's that for further confusing the facts:shock:

Drat! I wrote my reply and the power went out...ok. It's THAT Monika (mamacita's). They say the happening will be between 3 & 4. Dian is there and Kelly is flying over around 2 ish. So light your candles, put on some mellow music and send the good vibes! I'll let you know when I know. And no...a little Walter in the world is NOT what we need - he's a one-er!

No news yet. But a message from Kelly made it sound like maybe labor started naturally, which is what we all really wanted...so, as I drink all the alcohol in their house, we wait.

I just heard from Monika. Nothing is happening except some mild contractions, and they won't do the C-section until tomorrow morning because surprise surprise, the doctor wasn't even around. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Anyway, at least she'll get some dinner - Kelly and Dian are looking for a place to stay overnight. And Monika says she didn't like the 19th as a birth date anyway. I agree...20 is a much nicer number. I'm hoping she'll go into serious labor during the night and surprise them all!

I don't agree about that 19 - Lewis and I met on the 19th, got engaged on the 19th and got married on the 19th (not all the same 19th people). She's still got a couple hours to drop that baby on the 19th. :)

Yeah yeah yeah...met, engaged married...big deal! We're talking a separate human you never met, who didn't ask to be engaged and might as well be married to you for the next 18 years!!! C'mon! We'll go for the 20th and do the boogie woogie for you two on the 19th (and I'm sorry, but I do believe Lewis told me it WAS all on the same day):D

No new news as of this morning. I woke up thinking, oh no! I can't hear the phone with the door closed (against dogs & cats whom one should know a bit before sleeping with them on your head).

Again, I'll post as soon as I hear more. Or...if anyone hears anything before I get back to a computer, bring it on in!

Just as I was about revel in the glory of scooping the Birth
announcement from the bated breath of M.J. I was just told
by my source (Barbara) that her source was.........M.J.!
Hats off to you M.J. Now I'm going into stealth mode to get
that baby's name.

What I know is, Mama is really tired overwhelmed but full of joy. Both are doing well. And a whole lotta people found out about Perry's frozen mojitos. And Chris H. has posted a notice about the paternity, as the baby is light brown haired and blue eyed. But he won the pool!
Moments to remember...hearing "It's a GIRL!!!" screamed out...and seeing Perry in the middle of the bridge, with me on one end and Susie and Mary up by Butiki clapping and laughing...Perry's arms in the air, with the phone in one hand...
Gifford, with me yelling, it's a GIRL respondng, yeah, and Joe didn't know until I told him (Joe, as ever working, didn't hear his phone, with the compressor going, working on a tire)...Pat saying she knew it was a girl because of her early on dream, and just...joy and joy and more joy from so many.
We want pictures...and we'll have to wait, but soon we'll see Little Girl Joy. And yep, I'm high on frozen mojitos and huge happiness...more info when I get it.
