What IS that?? Villa Coral is run by Vacation Planners, so is that a rendering of a proposed thing?
Sigh.

I'm as confused as Island Woman, and sickened as Jim & Island Woman. I thought all those were individually owned? Or are they just time shares? Please tell me that that lisiting is for Villa Coral and not a new one.

We need some info Mr. Editor.

Look at the map closely and you can see that property is between Coral and the building that used to house a medical place.  I beleive that property is owned/or previously owned by Kique and Marta.

Actually, now that I looked at the map (thanks Hillman), it looks like it's Susan and Pedro's property where Jeff was building the plane, or is there a lot in front of that one? YUCK.

I haven't walked through there in a long time, so do not know what kind of activity is going on there now.  I thought height limitations in Culebra was 3 stories.

I have this recurring dream (nightmare?) that Jim, Willie, and Sondra are standing at the top of the hill by CheaLee's, shaking hands, congradulating one another and saying; "Well, we sold it all!"

There is a lot to be said for Mayor Taso's method of slow development on the island:  One ferry per day, No outside water source, and "word of mouth" realestate deals.

OMG that thing looks huge!  It seems to take up almost half of the block.  Are they really allowed to build something that big there?

I hope Hillman's nightmare doesn't become a reality.

Off topic, but any news on the Zoni development?  The petition was submitted last week, right?

Is this what Culebra is to become? Say it isn't so!

Last year this was in the Caribbean Business.

“Due to strict regulations restricting new developments and
heavily guarded protection for its pristine ecological zones,
Culebra represents an investor’s paradise,” asserted Willie
Vázquez, licensed real estate broker (Lic. No. 008) and
owner of Tropical Properties / Culebra Island.

“With the scarcity of good locations for water-front properties
contributing to an outstanding ROI, investing in Culebra real
estate is a must for any seasoned and savvy investor,” he
insisted.

Savvy! Savvy in investments and....nothing else counts in your
life....type Savvy? Willie lives in Culebra, right?

I read the ad as $1,000,000 for the land and project design only. Pretty steep even for a "savvy" investor. Lets hope that any truely savvy investors stay investing on islands more suited for this kind of development and having more hope for actual returns on their investment.

Welcome to the forum Chris! (yes, Willie Vazquez is a resident).

How interesting that my dream (nightmare) just last night was that I had arrived in Culebra, but I could not get past all the time-share hawkers at the airport. The airport was huge - mahogany walls with glass embellishments, an air conditioned monstrosity. I walked and I walked and I walked and I never did make it all the way through the airport. Now, I know the aiport there will never be so big that you'd get tired of walking before you reached the exit, but it is telling as to what my fears are, is it not?

Admin;  I took a hike down here this AM, no plane, existing structure and some old foundations amoungst the high weeds is all I saw.  This is taken from the City Pier, thats Coral on the left.  Hope this clears up the location of the "Towers".

Thanks Hillman!! The smaller white building is owned by Pedro, and is where he started building the plane. I've also heard a rumor that is the larger building right on the water just past it. Maybe it's one lot......no matter what, it is a crying shame, as it will tower over all else.
