Does anyone dare give me the definatation of "copious amounts"? The marine forecast is for 30 foot waves during the storm -- all those high end, shore front homes are going to have waves right in their living rooms. Mother Nature is still really mad, in case no one had noticed.....this is also coming on the new moon tides.....which in Maine are quite higher than in Culebra (like 13 feet higher).
Statement as of 4:34 AM EDT on April 13, 2007
... A potential major coastal storm may affect the entire area
Sunday through early next week...
Latest indications are showing a growing potential for a major
noreaster to develop and intensify along or off the mid Atlantic
coast on Sunday and then stall off the southern New England coast
early next week.
If this occurs the potential for copious amounts of snow or rain
exist. Very strong winds would also accompany this storm.
Along the coast coastal flooding and beach erosion may occur due
to the potential combination of strong onshore winds and
astronomical high tides early next week.
Mariners should also take note and be prepared to head to port and
take the appropriate precautions.
This is a storm that will need to be monitored very closely due to
its potential size and intensity. All interests are advised to
keep abreast of the latest statements on this developing situation
since it is still several days away.

one of those famous lurkers who lurk around spying on us was kind enough to e-mail the following defination of copious. Can we all say NO MORE lurking?
Definitions of 'copious'

copious (adj.) Large in quantity; abundant: copious rainfall.

Tonight is drumming circle night (I drive an hour, but boy is it worth it -- we had over 50 people tonight playing everything from the harp to the djembes to the digeridoo and ones I don't even know the name of and me on my new Celtic Bodhram drum (way too cool), although I guess we didn't have any guitars), and we all drummed for spring to come.....it's not just the nasty weather -- we've had very few sunny days, and people are just plain crabby -- it's just like a bad hurricane season in Culebra and how everyone feels in October -- you're so ready for it to be OVER!!!
I also did some drumming for Doc Fred and Courtney to add light to their journey.....
If you want to check out the drumming circle's website (and there's some cool video and pictures on it http://synthrick.tripod.com/dddc
Maine has it's good points to..... Although my advice to any Maiinaics there now is stay until June -- the snow may have melted by then
