So, I like to think I'm world famous, and my customers will follow me all over the place....and sometimes they do. I have had numerous Culebra customers find me in Maine over the years, and of coarse it's always nice for me when that does happen. But this time, Doug also benefits....

One of those customers, some boaters, come back every year to Maine -- but I originally met them in Culebra at Peppery Parrot (for those of you that remember those days). This year, when they came in for the first time about a month ago, the man was wearing a t-shirt that I immediately knew Doug had to have one of. And when he pointed out that it was for Frigate Ale which was from St. Croix of all places, I knew it was really meant for Doug.

Well, I like to say my motto is "I make Grown Men Cry"....well I'm proud to say I can make some men cry and then give me the shirt off their back -- which happened in this case....I have a t-shirt to send to Doug if he'll PM me with his mailing address......and Doug, you'll need to wear it over New Year's, so I can share pictures with the former owner....:D

Cute. Can we see a picture of it sans Doug?

I'll take a picture manana......it's too perfect -- the logo is what caught my eye...and the name sealed the bargain....my store help were in amazement that an apparent stranger would walk into my store and give me his shirt, but then again, they don't believe that I lived in a shipping container when I first moved to Culebra....

Frigate Ale was made by a friend of mine, Tim Mason the Brewmeister, long ago and far away on St. Croix (I wrote him up in Latitudes years ago when they actually asked me to write a business article, which was pretty amusing to me. He's a great guy, and has an equally talented wife, Patty, who is a baker supreme. He now is the man behind Foxy's home brew on Jost, and is still making great brews on STX)
There were three kinds of ale and all of them had awesome artwork on the labels, but Frigate Ale was the best one. Those t-shirts are classics! Doug is going to love it.

I thought so -- Doug with his love of Frigates and Beer (not necessarily in that order either) was destined to have one of these shirts.....and luckily, the owner was happy to share with someone who had a love affair with hot sauce and the Caribbean and particularly Culebra......it is a small, small world

Very cool. Thank you and him...

Hey, I wouldn't take the shirt off a customer unless I really liked it....
