Cleo reading the Wine Speculator?  If she wants to bone up on CdP, have her read Tanzer!  Nice Kitty, bring Dougie another glass, please...

Don't mean to be a downer, but we just found out Mr. Kitty is in moderate to severe kidney failure.  We are changing food and doing fluids at home to try to give a good quality of life and extend his kidney funciton as long as we can. :(

BB,

I'm very sorry to hear this.  Shroom is in a similar situation although I don't know if they classified it as severe.  She won't touch the special diet stuff.  We tried to mix in a little of her old food, but she's too clever at picking it out.  I hope Mr Kitty is a bit less persnickety and can be stablized.  Best vibes out to him and you.

Doug

Thanks Doug!  We will take all the good vibes we can get!  I'm so sorry to hear about Shroom, too.  It's always the smart ones that give us trouble, huh?  We just found all this out today, so the food acceptance is still up in the air.  If he pulls a Shroom and refuses it, I think I am just going to start giving him whatever yummy food he wants. Unlimited catnip too.  Let him really enjoy the time he has left.

LOL...actually, the original Maine Coon cats, before the breeders got hold of them, all had the extra toes -- Hemingway's cats, I'm sure where closely related. Twinkie, as she as known around here, has no idea she's a cat, and is convinced she's a dog, and acts just like one. She also retrieves, steals and hides things for future use. And the best part is she pays no attention when Miss Molly is in residence and trying to throw her weight around (literally).:D

Twinkie sure is a cutie too!  Maybe because I am a dog lover too, I really love the cats who think they are dogs!!  They are so fun!

I'm sure all the dog people wish this thread would just die!

Sue - Cleo is our first black cat. She came with the name "Cleo" and we renamed her "Cleocatra", which we think suits her purrrsonality much better. I never knew black cats could be so beautiful. I can understand why you're a sucker for them. Best of luck with Mr. Kitty's health. :)

Laurie - Twinkle Toes is a delightful creature.

Miss Molly has just arrived at the zoo......George couldn't care less, Bogart is concerned because she's bigger than he is, Twinkle Toes is in heaven and Rocky is in heaven at having something/one else to torment.  Janice and Bozo say they have plans to get her tail when she jumps on their cages.  And as for me, I'm resigned to having lost my bed for the winter.:D
