Take this quiz and discover what kind of fish you would be if you were a fish.

I knew I liked you Debbie---I'm a hammerhead too!!  My daughter is a Sailfish.  We don't really know what it means either, but it's fun!

I am a bluefin tuna which is very pricey. Also, can be found anywhere because of being adaptable but it is getting endangered because of its GOOD TASTE. What else could you expect from a warm blooded Puerto Rican (this is for MJ)?

Hmm...Pricey and dangerous...oops, endangered...sounds like sushi to me!!!

(Today they had conejo/rabbit at Dinghy Dock! I had a bite of Lewis' (didn't know it was on the menu or I'd have ordered it) and it was delicious! Which has nothing to do with my inner fish but I had to tell you all anyway!
And for our bluefin...I remembered the Spanish word for rabbit all by myself, aren't you proud of me? It stuck in my mind in Spain, in a market, when I'm looking at this skinned thing that looks like a cat...and it was conejo. Should have known since we used to raise rabbits, but we didn't leave the friggin' HEAD on it)

Yum! Tastes like chicken, but where did it come from? Are there rabbits on Culebra? We used to shoot and eat conejo on my Grandpa's farm when I was a kid. Come on, Laurie, if a 12 year old can eat a rabbit and get over it, you can!

heck, I've had rabbit before.  I've roasted frogs and grasshoppers over a campfire.  I've had roasted snake meat.  I've had buffalo, well before it was a yuppy food.  BUT, that was when I was 12 and thought be a survivialist was cool.

I have maturity and wisdom now, and there is something about rabbit heads that does not marry well with my inner adult.:D

I think rabbit surpasses chicken in taste...and health, hardly ANY fat! I have no idea where they got it but it tasted farm raised to me (very delicate and cooked beautifully), which you can buy boxed over on the big island. Maybe they had it here? Dunno, I'll ask Neil.

And, some info for your inner rabbit: pay attention to # 8!

1 Cholesterol level in rabbit meat is much lower than chicken, turkey, beef, pork. (Alabama A & M University 1989)

2  Rabbit is lower in % of fat than chicken, turkey, beef, and pork. (U S D A circular # 549)
3 Unsaturated fatty acids is 63% of total fatty acids. ( Dr Reo)

 4 Rabbit is highest in protein%. (U S D A circular # 549)

5 The office of home economics, state relations of the U S Department of Agriculture has made extensive test and have stated that domestic rabbit meat is the most nutritious meat known to man (or dog?).

6 Rabbit meat has been used and is suitable for special diets, such as those for heart disease patients, diets for the aged, low sodium diets, weight reduction diets, etc. ( Rabbit production Cheek Patton Templeton) Of course this is between you and your doctor (vet!!). We do not make any recommendations of this type because we are not qualified.
7 Rabbit has 795 calories per pound. Chicken 810, Veal 840, Turkey 1190, Lamb 1420, Beef 1440, Pork 2050. ( U S D A circular # 549 )

8 Rabbits will produce 6 pounds of meat on the same feed and water as a cow will produce 1 pound of meat on the same feed and water.
9 Rabbits are raised up off the ground and is one of the cleanest meat.
10 As the worlds human population grows there will be less land to raise food. The rabbit will play a more increasing role in this supply.
11 France is the world's largest producer and consumer of rabbit meat. In Hungary there are rabbitries with over 10,000 does producing rabbits for export to Italy.
12 Rabbit meat is all white meat.

Oh! What pretty fur! That would make someone in Maine a nice pair of ear muffs!

Just a note: I do not and do not advise eating rabbit heads. I wouldn't even use them for car decorations. I swear it!
