Our friends will be joining us in Culebra Feb. 8th to the 16th. They will want to dive for sure but may only do one day. Where is the best dive on the island if you could only do one dive. Also, perhaps a few other suggestions in case they decide to do more than one dive day.
Thanks.
ps. I love the the all the photos being shared especially all the underwater pictures.

Well, they may not really have a choice. The dive operators decide, based on conditions, where is the best place to go on any given day. Popular locations include The Arch, Carlos Rosario, several locations around Luis Pena, Tamarindo and Punta Soldado. All of those offer great soft corals, lots of fish, and occasionally, some rippin' current, which makes the dives fun, but a little tiring. More extreme locations include Amarillo Reef, Ballena Rock and Geniqui, but your friends would have to dive several days with the same operator before they would feel comfortable taking them out to those spots.
They can shore dive at Melones or Punta Soldado for some easy, long bottom times.
Hope this helps!

glad you're enjoying all the pictures.....we enjoy taking them and sharing them!
Culebra is known for it's great diving -- you will find wonderful surprises at almost every location, and as Debbie mentions, the conditions constantly change -- so one day one spot will be great, and the next one on the other side of the island......both dive operators on the island are wonderful, skilled, and highly knowledgable of Culebra's waters, and you can't go wrong with either one!
Enjoy planning your visit!

| Thanks for your response.. I will relay the info to our friends and they can set up the day and time they want to dive. Do you need to reserve ahead or is it best to wait until you are on the island?

I would highly recommend reserving ahead of time with one of the operators.......we're now in "high" season, and the boats are small, and only take out 6 people......

Glen,
Best to reserve ahead like admin advised. The spots go fast!
