Burst water pipe - local contractor came running when Kathy called and replaced a 3-inch section of PVC in our yard. Problem solved.
Mice (for those of you that have heard) - evidence everywhere - kitchen drawers, beds, pantry, utility closet, bedroom drawers, master closet. Everything was chewed up and shat upon. Gross, gross, gross, and I witnessed it AFTER Kathy spent 8 hours there. Although Kathy told me over and over to enjoy the weekend and not worry about it, and that she would come back next week, I just couldn't stand it, and we spent some time continuing the clean up job. It will still require another pass by Kathy. Exterminator is coming on Wednesday. Cat arrives on December 29th!
Freezer - I didn't empty the ice maker. Apparently, during a power outage, every single piece of ice melted into the open bin at the bottom. It must have weighed six pounds. It took 3-4 hours to melt in the sink, and we do not have a/c.
Food - El Eden now serves dinner. We had an island bean salad - three or four beans mixed with red onions, red peppers and lemon juice and spice, followed by mushroom risotto and churrasco with salad. It was delicious. With two drinks, $50. We also had lasagne at Heather's during Linda's birthday party. It was very good, but one serving was enough for 3 people!
New camera - I bought the Olympus 770SW in July. It's waterproof to 30 feet; freezeproof, shatterproof, blah, blah, blah. I got a couple of nice shots while snorkeling. As with all underwater photography, it will take some practice, but overall I'm pleased with it. What's also cool is being able to stick your head out of water and take pictures of other creatures. Never know what you're going to see while snorkeling. The water was CHILLY!
Culebra - we were SHOCKED on our flight out by all the new roads cut - some above Colmada Genesis; others on the hill to the right on the way to Bahia Marina and above the airport in the Clark neighborhood. All these snaky red-dirt ribbon roads - really sickening!Attachment: heron.jpg (Downloaded 49 times) Last edited on Tue Dec 4th, 2007 02:51 am by Diving Debbie

| Cool...I get to meet Cleocatra! I was trying to think of a scheme for having a watch-cat 24x7x365. Hard to make that work, I guess.
