I LOVE it!!  Thank you!! Such a great cat napping pose!  What a wonderful life to be so carefree.  We lost our old Mr. Kitty (Miss Molly Bayberry's distant brother/cousin) a couple weeks ago and have been missing the wonderful, contented sleep positions he used to enjoy.  I don't have a good kitty picture to reciprocate with, but here is a picture of the 7 week old puppy we are currently fostering.

OMG!!!  How the heck do you foster a puppy that darn cute?????  With me, foster and adoption are two very close verbs......

I'm so sorry about Mr. Kitty.:(:(:(:(

Thank you for the condolences.  He was a really special guy who lived a long, happy life.  We were fortunate to be owned by him at the end.

As far as foster and adopt, we are acutely aware of the difference between those two words in this house.  I was told by Keith this weekend to "Find that puppy a good home soon, or he's staying!"  I have been hanging onto a very thin thread to stay strong and be willing to part with him, but if the perfect home doesn't present itself soon, we may be in trouble.  He is just such a good puppy--stays close when you walk with him, sleeps in our bed and wakes us up around 6:30 or 7:00 (still too early for me though, lol) to go outside, loves to go for rides, etc., etc.

This is a picture of him with our female, who is, well, okay, she is a former foster of ours.  I only said we were aware of the differences, I didn't say we were good at it!  (No relation between the two dogs, BTW)

I have a wonderful family of crows perched outside my bedroom window in the wee hours of the morning I would be willing to sacrifice for you, Admin!  Between you and MJ, there should be some yummy hot sauce to go with it!

Admin, give Twinkle Toes a chin scratch for me (or is an ear scratch preferred?).  It looks like one is desperately needed!

Twinkle Toes thanks you for the pet -- she'll take it just about anywhere, and drools the whole time while kneading you with her big paws .......

Thank you Debbie.  I still haven't washed his favorite blanket--it helps me feel like he is still here.

Oh Admin, I gotta love the drooling cats.  I used to watch a friend's cat who loved to snuggle in your hair by your ear and then drool.  It was a tame version of getting a "Wet Willie", with lots of love behind it.  Weird.  Twinkle Toes seems a little more refined than that! :)

Sue,

Condolences on Mr. Kitty.   We still miss our Gumbo.  Even Shroom, pictured at left.

Thanks Doug.  They definitely leave behind a hole in your heart.  Shroom was one gorgeous black cat!!   And I believe that all felines are refined, some just hide it better than others!

Dougie - Shroom is gone? Is he the one you were worried about in January? if so, I'm so sorry for your loss too - I didn't realize he had passed.

Shroom is still with us, albeit with kidney problems.  It was Gumbo who passed away in March.

I'm sorry about Gumbo. I guess when you said "Even Shroom", I guess you meant Shroom misses Gumbo, but I thought you were saying that even Shroom was gone. In any event, it's hard to lose a furry friend, and I wish I had known in March - I would have sent you a big ol' hug. So consider it delivered now.

Doug, I'm so sorry about Gumbo.  I made the same assumption Debbie did about Shroom, but so glad to hear he is still hanging in there!  Very lucky kitty to have someone to take such good care of him and love him.  I hope you get lots more time.
