I am so excited to say that Bob the Dog, previously of Culebra, is now residing in a wonderful foster home in Ohio! He was a truly laid-back traveler, but was a little surprised by the cold, white stuff falling (and blowing!) from the sky upon his arrival. His adjustment is ongoing, as everything around him is quite foreign, but he is still a very sweet, gentle natured little boy. His arrival would not have been possible without the hard work of Jill Buckingham of Animal Welfare of Culebra and Tanya Oleksa, Bob's current foster Mom, of Rose's Rescue in Ohio. Way to go!!

| Wow, Sue - that is awesome! I hope you can be the middle man for many more Satos; so many need homes.

Thanks Debbie! "Handsome" is next on the list. As long as the funding holds up , we are hoping to get more up here when space allows. We are fortunate to be involved in an awesome prison training program that enables us to save so many more dogs. You can check it out on our website http://www.rosesrescue.org
We would love to have a link on our site to a video about Culebra and the difficulties that strays and the people trying to help them face. It is a pretty unique situation and it would be great to educate and encourage donations for the dogs. Anyone interested in helping with the video???

I'm not sure who is fostering him. I just know what he looks like from the picture on this site. He does look very, very cute!! Shouldn't be hard to find him a home up here with that face!

WOW!!!! That is soooooo great! Bob...I remember the weekend he was dumped here...he had a buddy who didn't make it, but he was NOT giving up. He looks fantastic in the pics, putting some weight on.
What a wonderful thing. Thanks for caring and sharing - you all rock, big time!
Hi to Bob!!!

Hey MJ!
I would love to hear more detail about what you remember from when Bob was dumped. Anything you can remember would be great! Thanks!

I wish I could nail down the timing but...I live on Culebra. He and another dog that looked much like him were dropped/dumped over a holiday weekend. They lived off ditch water and trash. The other dog soon wasn't around anymore, and Bob was chasing tourists from the cart area of town to Flamenco for hand outs.
Every once in awhile it seemed someone was going to take him and he'd be gone from the streets for awhile. But then he'd always be back around, fiesty as ever, still not catching the car, but occasionally catching a kind hearted visitor. It's been...quite a while since he arrived - Gail might be able to remember better...I'll ask her. He looked just over the little puppy stage when he got here, at least 5 or more months old? That's a guess, obviously.

| Thanks MJ! They put his age around 2 years, so the poor guy has been scrounging for some time, huh? It's going to take him a while to realize that he has someone to take care of him. I guess he is proof that you can survive on your looks (okay, personality had a lot to do with it too!!). Definitely let me know if Gail remembers anything, too! And give Little Man and Angus some lovin' for us!!
