this was a welcome sight on the way to Flamenco (even if it made no sense, as things occasionaly do here).....a young bull tied up to the fence along the road.  When was the last time you saw cattle on the island???

a long time ago....this was back in the days when Bayberry's family would make her go first to scare the young cattle and bulls away......and look at the hats she made her kids wear!:shock:  this is on the way down to Brava......

Bet not many of the forum readers realize that MOST of Culebra was in pasture land during the 1970's when we first came here.   Gradually the cattle economy went downhill and the land more and more covered with trees.

Yeah, that's a pretty nice pair of kids in the photo above....

I saw the same bull! He was very accomodating and looked forward and then sideways as I took a couple of pictures, as if he were posing.

LOL...with me, I don't think he was posing so much as trying to figure out how to get off his rope and chase me down.....he was angrier than Island Woman was at having his picture taken (and he has bigger horns).:cool:
