Free Image Viewer:  Somebody send you a Kodak photo file that you can't open or some other file extension that is a mystery to you?  This image viewer will open just about any image file and then convert it to .jpeg if you want for saving.  It also has a basic slide show maker and just about all the basic stuff you want in a viewer.  Totally free download at:

      http://www.irfanview.com/

I should note that I make no money off these reccomendations and that most are for PC use only.

OK, so you bought this new digital camera.  Now you want to share your photos with others via email or posting on a website.  Smaller is better.  You do not want to smoke someones server with a huge file size, so what do you do?

Here is a simple program that does one thing, reduce your photo file size for sending via email.  Simply set your prefereces for reduction (smallest setting is reccomended for email) and drag & drop the photo image into the program.  Simple, effective, and free.

Do you have little yellow stickies/notes all over your computer area or attached to the moniter?  Here is a little program to have stickies and reminders right on your desktop display.  I use mine to remind me to do my Computer Maintenece with the "sleep" setting on the notes.  You can also create "to do" list, send stickies to others as quick notes, or just give yourselve a "thought of the day".  Free of course!

Want to capture a portion of the website you are on, or a picture that does not allow you to right-click and save?  Want to do this without having to "print screen",  open a imaging program, crop, and save?  Then "Capture Master" is the tool for you.  A simple program to capture any portion of the screen and save to file.  Of course it is a free download at:

this is one that comes with Apples -- hold the apple key, the shift key and 4 and your courser turns into a crosshair and you simply drag it over anything you want to take a picture of -- it saves it as .png to your desktop

Jackie, I assume you are referring to "Capture Master" when referring to an error message for download.  If so, try this download service link:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Capture/Capture-Master.shtml

If this does not answer your question, let me know.

Want to liven-up or personalize your desktop?  Change out your icons to some really neat free ones at this site:

  http://www.iconarchive.com/

I reccomend the "Nature" or "Holiday" groups, as they have some nice caribbean theme icons.

OK, so you've downloaded some free icons and learned how to change and apply them to your desktop!  How about making your own, either create by coloring the pixels, or bring your own image/object into this free icon maker program.
