After a almost 5 month wait for an electrician, I finally have a working generator-- so bring on those ice storms!!!  the sweet sound of a working generator filled the air and reminded me of warmer climates this morning.  It's even got a girlie start, so there's no pulling and yanking and swearing in the middle of a blizzard.....

hey, it's the little things that make me really, really happy!!!

:D

Loves me a good generator.

Don't delay reading up on all the safety proceedures and be sure to invest in a CO detector!

warm and with food, is really good!!  I feel a little more secure in my little part of the world.  The electrician was concerned that the generator wasn't strong enough to hook up my hot water heater.  I explained that after hurricanes, I had learned that 3 minutes in a microwave was perfect for a gallon jug of water.  Just the right tempeature, and a gallon of water was plenty for a shower.  I think he truly thought I was nuttier than I really am.

Now if I could just figure out a safe way of navigating the skating rink that is between my house and my car.

Iced tea is still a few weeks out.  But I can justify hot chocolate, with whipped cream.

and Doug -- the generator is an outside one......no high CO levels for me......I want the noise to annoy my neighbors without electricity and not me.:D

Outside is mandatory, but make certain that there is no way for exhaust  to be pulled into your house, including chimneys and furnace intakes.  Winds can complicate this.

LOL....it's outside and far away from the house......and in our storms, the wind would carry it the exhaust right up to Canada.....plus I have no chimney or furnace intake.....I'll let you figure that one out.:D

Well, now it's guaranteed there will be no further ice storms. :P
