I can't stop laughing....I played this three times and it just got worse...poor child. It should be shown in every middle school in America, immediately! What was the question?

| OMG!!! They showed this clip on the David Letterman show last night. I am not usually one to find humor in watching other people struggle like this, but after the first 5 seconds I couldn't help it!! After they showed it, Letterman said how bad he felt for this poor girl and Paul says---I loved every second of it!! We should show it again. Let's have this girl and Mario Lopez (the host of the Awards) on the show! I was dying, LMAO!! You've got to admire her commitment, once she started slipping on that slope, she just added more water and went for the big thrill ride!!

Diving Debbie -- I agree with you --- Beachbound, Doug and Island Woman all seem to be watching/searching/enjoying too much blonde time. I've had to deal with a pile of e-mails......what's really scary, is that Island Woman finally got me to do some news research -- she won third place.....now that is really scary -- almost as scary as Doug and Island Woman searching her out in the first place must be all that Deet you people are using.

Ok, I was just starting to get over it until you said she won THIRD PLACE!!! Now it's really not funny at all (oh, who am I kidding......I am still chuckling with MJ!!). As a blonde who has had to hear a lifetime of blonde jokes, you start to appreciate the really good ones. This clip is the best one yet! Sorry if I offend anyone, it must be the DEET talking!

third place is the same as third runner up in this case.....
and I believe it has nothing to do with beauty pagents or women, just plain dumber than dumb people.......including the judges.

| I agree with Admin. It's that once again we have stupid people presented as role models, especially for our children. And are the judges that dumb too or was she really the 3rd best one there??? I'm not sure which option is scarier......

[rant]At the risk of total misinterpretation, beauty pageants kind of make my skin crawl. Not that I don't enjoy a beautiful woman - but the pageant concept is so ugly on so many levels. Stage parents, beauty as a competition instead of a joy (i.e., if I'm on Zoni and somebody starts in about Cancun, I want to punch them in the nose), pursuit of physical perfection instead of holistic beauty, Jon Benet Ramsey, narcissism as a pre-requisite; the whole aggregation (aggravation?).[/rant]

I am right there with you Doug. What happened to beauty on the inside radiating to the outside? Valuing a person for who they are and not that whether or not they conform to what society has deemed to be beautiful? I have a feeling (hope?) that we are not in the minority on this board in our thinking, unless they are some beauty pageant proponents lurking that we don't know about.
That was my mini-rant, if I had more time you would have gotten the full-blown version. Consider yourself spared.

Damn...ok, you all win, I'm NOT running for Senora Culebra now. I've HAD it with being thought of only in terms of my looks and the size of my breasts! I thought that was what it was all about most of my life, oh, the trouble I've seen! But now, I've seen the light and realize that there is more to me than just a perfect body and face, that should be sculpted in every substance known to MAN.
I can make awesome hot sauce, HEY, do you all HEAR ME???? I can read books with words of at least two syl..sy...those thingys. I can!
So STOP with the fan mail, the money offers, the endorsements....I've realized how shallow it all is and...well, you can still do the money thing.
Thank you, all of you, and my Mom...wait wait, sorry, it's...I've been brainwashed so long...thank you, tiny little forum viewers and writers such as for helping me get a grip.
And now, on to the weather.
