I'm trying to learn more Spanish, and thought I'd start sharing my daily lesson......hopefully our native speakers who are members of the forum will jump in and help us learn!
pecho (péh-choh)
chest / breast (noun)
Example: Tengo un resfriado de pecho muy molesto.
Translation: I have a very bothersome chest cold.
pecho de pollo = chicken breastLast edited on Sun Oct 28th, 2007 12:16 pm by admin

| this is where I get all confused.......there are local terms for things that just aren't in my Spanish lessons......and I hope we'll get some native speakers jumping in and helping us out on these trick questions! Those "R" rolls are tricky, but it still amazes me that anyone can learn English (especially American English). Our language makes no sense -- even to me!!

| Thanks Mimi!! How something sounds and how it is spelled - easy to confuse the already confused. I was getting some lessons from Maritza <sp?> at Mamacita's yesterday...I'd try to say something, she'd put it in the correct form, which is how I learn most of the little I remember. But even watching television here, I can SEE the word, and hear the pronunciation and I know I'd never have a clue that was the word being spoken. Which is one reason that *despacio, por favor* is one phrase I DO know!

| Another resource - dictionary.com will send you a spanish word of the day by e-mail. Or, if you can remember go to their site every day, the word is published on the site. Last edited on Mon Oct 29th, 2007 12:11 pm by Diving Debbie

Maybe I can be a resource...
pecho = chest of humans, specially women. For men - unos buenos pectorales but for women - unos buenos pechos, somethign like good tits.
Chicken breasts are pechugas de pollo. Now you can say that to a woman but it is a little bit vulgar = que pechugas.
Carne molida is ground meat.
