I moved this because it only lasted for a few hours and might
be of interest to tourists
A reliable place to see coral banded shrimp for snorkelers
is the main tidal pool (baths) at Culebrita.
Snorkel from the wall, approach the rock indicated,
left front (wall) side, dive/pull yourself under to see
into and under the ledge! Call Culebra Divers 787-742-0803
or Guilin 787-314-6163
What's your favorite spot?Attachment: Baths.png (Downloaded 60 times) Last edited on Wed Jan 9th, 2008 09:47 am by Jim

| So who is Gulian? As asked previously our friends will be diving while in Culebra. Culebra Divers were recommended as was Taz from culebra diving. They want to call and schedule a day trip. Any suggestions?

Gulian runs a water taxi -- but he's not a dive operator. Culebra Divers (Walter and Monica) or Aquatic Adventures (Taz) are skilled operators, and I would recommend going with one of them. They'll know the right spot for that day's conditions, and you're safe in their capable hands......
but the baths at Culebrita are mighty special!!! taz might be talked into doing diving or snorkeling and stopping at the baths......

I agree that Culebra Divers and Taz are pros. However
Guilin who does not do dive trips only snorkel trips
and small family outings including fishing is someone
to consider.
Some locals mispronounce his name as "gay-Lee"
but it actually is closer to "gi-leen" the I being a short i like
in "hit:
Also for those of you familiar with Culebra, Guilin is
Michael the Barber's father. His parents are Taso
(who still lives above the barber shop) and Doña Edel
recently passed, wonderful lady! The guy on the left
looks like me, but of course it's not, I don't drink......
well ok.......that much.......alright already....that often!
I'm sticking to that!Attachment: guilin.png (Downloaded 45 times) Last edited on Thu Jan 10th, 2008 07:53 am by Jim

| Love that you posted the location. We have snorkeled the baths many times and we love it. It is like snorkeling in an aquarium...well maybe a little more water movement in the baths...but such beautiful fish.
