and as it turns out, I'm just not as hardy as I used to be, and really, really am tired of shoveling........and shoveling........and shoveling......
did I mention my heating bill?
thank goodness for my latest addiction......green tea lattes and split pea soup with artichoke and garlic sausage.

And did you notice the temperature predicted for Thursday night? To add to the miseries in northern New England this year, almost every day/night that doesn't have snow or sleet or freezing rain, there have been single digit temperatures, often with strong winds. People's heating systems are really strained, let alone emptying their owners' bank accounts due to the cost of fuel.....
Well, if the economy ever rights itself, tourism here should blossom!!!

actually, because it's the one window when it won't be snowing, Thursday was the night I was going to go skinny dipping, but the river is frozen over. 
A friend just called sounding like a little kid asking me if I had seen that it was snowing again (duh, of coarse it is -- it never stops in this state), and all excited about the long term forecast. He is a Telmark skier, so is slightly bent to begin with. He also has a landlord that shovels.

Ugh. I'd start offering split pea soup to anyone who will shovel for you!
Oh chit! This is MJ!!! I'm dog/housesitting and using culebrabike's computer. I didn't even notice that. But hey sure, you can make some soup and send it down...I'll make sure it gets eaten...
