If you had a choice in where to stay in Culebra where would you stay for your vacation?
A. Casa Su Marco in La Romana
B. Casa de Martes West in Munecos
C. Bahia Marina

please give this new vacation planner who has never been to Culebra your perspective: the good, the bad, the ugly.

Thanks.

Well, it really comes down to weather you want to be in a small house, or have the advantages of an actual hotel setting with food, a great bar and swimming pool at your doorstep......

Actually, I'm not worried about whether it's a hotel or small house - I'm more interested in saving money but not sacrificing on quality.  I know Bahia Marina is more luxurious compared to the apartments.  I'm really trying to find a clean yet comfortable and affordable place to stay for the week.

I'm not familiar with the first two. Both the Muneco and Romano neighborhoods are densely populated (relative to the other parts of the island) with cars, roosters and people, so it can be a bit noisy. You also will enjoy meeting more locals and fitting more into the lifestyle, so it has it's advantages. Bahia Marina is far removed from town, very quiet and has a nice view.

Over the years, we've rented various homes and cottages from Jim Galasso at Culebra Island Realty - if you call him, he'll be able to recommend something based on your preferences.
