How do you get to Resaca Beach?  On Google maps, on the road to Flamenco,I see a road at the pond going right.  At the end it appears there is a parking area/turn around/circle/???.  This area appears to be several hundred yards from the beach, which I think is Resaca.  Is there an obvious path/ trail to the ocean?  Is this road paved and if not is it passable by car?  We have been to Culebra several times and are looking to explore more shorelines.  I would also like directions to Brava.  Thanks.

I think what you are seeing on the Google map is actually the area known as the shark pen, which is still part of Flamenco- but your instincts were correct -- Resaca is just over the hill.  To get there, you need to follow the road that is on the other side of the airport and runway from the road to Flamenco.  At the end, you'll come to a landing pad (old helipad), and then you hike down a trail.  To be honest, I'm not sure how well the trail has been maintained, and even under good circumstances, it's an adventuresome hike.

Brava is easier -- to get to Brava, you follow the road past the airport on the way to Zoni hugging the bay.  You'll go past the cemetary on your left, up a hill, and then see the 1902  building on the left which is the future home of the Museum.  Take the left, and follow the road to the end where you'll see a fence.  Park the car, and follow the trail down to Brava.

Enjoy planning your visit!!

Um, I think it's a left coming from town?? The 1902 building is on the left, and you take a left at the building, correct??

Thanks for the info.  We'll be in Culebra the two weeks before Easter and may need a place to avoid the crowds!!:D:D
