Any suggestions where we might kyack in Culebra. Had planned to do an excursion with Culebra Water Taxi which included three hours in Dakita with a kyack but his boat is not working so they are only doing something on Sat. and Sundays and that won't work for us.

I know we can rent from Jim Peterson at Barbra Rosa's but not sure where the best place to kyack would be. Any advice would be welcomed and Thanks.

you are better off staying away from Culebra Water Taxi -- personally, I don't approve of his making Dakity into his own bar and floating restaurant ruining the environment, and 3 hours of kayaking in just Dakity would be very boring.

Jim, I'm sure will chime in on this post, but you can't go wrong with whatever he tells you.  You'll do best to wait until the day you want to go kayaking to decide your destination -- a lot will depend on weather and wind.

Culebra is best suited for not too much planning ahead of time.....it never seems to work......

I used to say "If you can walk you can paddle" now my
arthritis is so bad I can barely walk but, you guessed it!
I can still paddle.

My focus for years has been Luis Peña, I believe it is the best
for kayaking based on its accessability, snorkeling, and
the ability to portage. I have kayed every major key
in the Culebra archipelago, so if your hardcore I can
still give you a few pointers 787-379-1973

Yes, have had the pleasure of speaking with Jim in past trips to your beautiful island. Enjoyable to say the least. Ahh the flavors of the island are often beyond verbal discription!

I'm speechless, well not reallly, but Barbara says it's
good to say that once in awhile so I sound normal.

Jim, please don't go speechless on me now!  What is the rental fee for the Kyacks for the day if we choose to kyack to Luis Pena and spend the day. Great suggestion by the way.
