While waiting for the picture to load and having seen your word *critters* I was happily suprised to see an iguana, rather than some of the OTHER critters that are showing up.
Unfortunately, the scenario is set for dry weather for the next few days at the least. So rain dancing is in order and should begin immediately.

(This image - entitled Rain Dance - is from the web site http://www.edelmangallery.com/parkeshow.htm - really fascinating photography, with an excellent philosophy from the husband and wife team behind the cameras, Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison)

was this one of the critters you were referring to? I swear, I will never, ever get used to these guys (or gals in this picture -- she's curled up "small" protecting her eggs)......this was on the car the other day, and last night, one was on my wall, which intitiated the Spider scream (people that have heard it don't care to do so again) and a scream for my father to come with spider warfare weapons (broom and shoes -- I prefer chemicals in these cases, but he's more a environmentalist than me)....and yes, all my pacifist training goes out the window -- spiders must die.

Ok, I'm grossed out. I only have about 195 thousand of those holes in my yard. And yes. that would be one of the critters. And if you post pics of the others, I'm quitting this web site!

I remember once at Seabourne, Kevin, unknowingly, had one of these suckers on the back of his neck. We, being the good friends we are, were trying to figure out how to tell him/or get it off him without his freaking out. He ended up, for once in his life, following instructions -- we told him to quickly brush his hand across his neck and move out of the way quickly.....spider was removed without any one fainting (although I did decide that perhaps another bar would be safer).

there was also the time when one was inside my car, again on the way home from Seabourne, and i stopped the car in the middle of the road. Little Rebecca with her big ole sneakers saved the day/night by stompting the living daylights out of it -- she has a real mean side to her when it comes to rats and spiders.

WOW! Kevin with long hair! New to me...and almost as startling as a spider.

The image of Rebecca stomping hell out of a spider almost brings tears to my eyes!

I can see why they call those creatures mango spiders; it looks like it has a mango on its back. Cool! I learned my lesson. I'm not posting any more pictures of spiders but that picture of Kevin is just about as scary. Does he know you're spreading that around the internet? :D

yes, Rebecca was quite the heroine that night -- I'd want her on my side anytime....although with rodents she's a mess, and I always dealt with those.....but she was jumping up and down, stomping away well past the spider's demise, and we were both yelling -- kinda like quarterbacks -- if you yell, you feel braver.

As for Kevin -- it's time the world knows how scary he used to be -- makes him look tame now! And he once made me swim naked over to John's (of John and Lucy) sailboat and climb on board and ask if he had any Grey Poupon mustard. Trust me, the look on John's face was worth the humilation.

well, of coarse....he and David McGuire -- a bad news team if I ever saw them. Made me do all kinds of silly things.

well, OK, actually, I'm not sure - it might have been a dare? Or maybe a double-dare.....

what was much worse was when the two of them took off in the dinghy with my clothes and left me swimming around Dakity in my birthday suit -- there is a certain cop who shall remain nameless who was out kayaking and can unfortunately testify to the truth to the story. And I'll leave it at that:D

For those of you that didn't get a chance to met him before he left this realm, I've attached a picture of David -- with another trouble maker, our beloved Lana.....I know the two of them are causing all kinds of trouble on the upper deck...but laughing non-stop all the same.
