What a woolly, wild day we had yesterday, and it feels like today is close to it already.
It was like the Saturation O Meter was on full blast. Rain would fall hard and heavy and end abruptly, as if giving our parched ground time to absorb it, and then it would start again. The wind blew like mad and then would calm, with the sun making celebrity appearances to the delight of some. The rest of us, I hope, enjoyed the rare weather (well, it's SUPPOSED to be rare!). This time, we have gotten the wind *event* promised.
The weather weenies say this pattern is going to continue through late Friday, and while it may abate somewhat, Saturday will bring in more. We'll see what happens.
I have no idea what's going on with the ferries at the moment, but only the cargo ferry was running yesterday morning. I've been home since then, having a *rain day* and enjoying it completely. Looks like I might have another one today! Oh darn.
This is what slightly past dawn looked like in my world.

with a view like that, I'd call today a "Closed Others" day.....

sooooooo glad some rain fell, and hopefully the earth was able to take a few deep drinks to green the island up again.....

It's amazing, but out in the tall, brown grass, right at the bottom are little shoots of green already. I was going to take a pic but...it didn't quite work as a good shot. Maybe in a day or so.

What I really did today was go all over the island taking photos with Lurker Dude. That included stepping on a rusty nail and getting a tetanus shot. Which, oh I love Culebra, was easy peasy and almost painless, a lot more painless than it is now!
Here is one of the early morning Flamenco shots. There was NO one at the beach and it really wasn't that early. Very cool day, literally and figuratively.

This is from another part of the island...the sun was starting to sort of break through, though it didn't last long. It was...pretty dreamy.

Beautiful shots, MJ. So, Lurker Dude is a photog too, right? Is he ever going to post his shots, or does he enjoy hiding behind his mystery?

let's not even go there.....Lurker Dude is a great photographer, but he's painfully shy. (oh just typing that made me laugh)

good thing you got the tetanus shot if you're gonna continue hanging out with him.:)

I was laughing so hard I forgot to say GREAT shot of Flamenco!

LMAO -- I saw picture #2 of this series......did Harley knock her over?  It's good to beat up on Island Woman every once in a while.  I love how she's holding her camera and thinks the other hand being held out in front would be enough to stop the Harley monster....

is that your best picture?  share some more Mr. LD!:)

Sorry about your foot MJ--ouch!!  Awesome shot of the waves at Flamenco!  Tough ones to get, I know!

Lurker Dude, you need to get on here WAY more often, even if you don't type a word and just post your pictures!!  MJ on the beach in defensive mode is too funny--too bad there is not *after* shot with paw prints all over her white clothes!!  The pic of Harley in the window is so awesome, just a beautiful shot of a beautiful girl!!  Well done.
