Snatched from sleep with the sound of water pounding, I could not believe how hard it was coming down. I went to the door and the screen was soaked, with water spraying through, soaking me in about two seconds. Rain rarely comes through the door due to the direction it faces, and never like this. And something else was amiss...there was no rain sound on the roof. Or at the *rain* window. I was sure I was awake because even my dreams don't include continuous water being sprayed in my face.

No, it wasn't rain. This was a product of our extremely fluctuating water pressure. I foolishly forgot to put the valve to OFF on the hose by the door and as the pressure went up (and up and up - watering the gardens when it's this high is like letting a fire hose off, a delicate dance between watering and blasting the little darlings right out of the ground), the hose blew up in two places, sending geysers inside. I loved that hose, may it RIPieces.

I was really hoping for rain.

Man, that is a teaser of a topic headline.....we need a deluge badly -- well not a deluge because it's so dry that would just cause a muddy mess, but rain, rain, rain.......it's sad when I'm craving a high of 10 degrees and snow on Monday.....

that all being said, I hurt my stomach laughing at your hose story -- only in the islands.....

Well, the devil has been at work taking water up to the top of the hill above you (?? to service the new development up behind Genesis?? -- but at least to give better water pressure to the houses that go up that hill.    Now we know the installation is all but complete.....

Shame on you MJ! I was congratulating myself that the rain dances from afar had worked - before I opened your post. Guess I'll keep rain dancing, or better yet, I can send you some of the crap that's on the ground here today - sleet and freezing rain, and idiots on the roads. Want some?

yes, she is very mean three times a year -- I think you should download one of YOUR spider pics here -- just to teach her a lesson (plus even I am fasinated by them from afar (very afar).....

for grins, here's the weather forecast for home on Monday the day I leave :(

Monday
Mostly sunny. Highs around 15. (quite clearly Maine's idea of sunny is different than mine)

Monday Night and Tuesday
Mostly cloudy with a 50 percent chance of snow showers. Lows zero to 5 above zero. Highs 10 to 15.

Actually, it did rain rather hard for about 10 minutes last night, Wed., on our hill near Seabourne. It was teasingly intermittent and our spirits rose and fell with each tinkle on the roof. It wet the week - old soot from the fire, helping the new guinea grass to regrow- oh goody!

In the morning the rain had merely moistened the ashes enough to help them emit a new sort of burning smell. Now, it's dry again and blowing on our screens and covering our house, belongings, and us.

"Paradise Isn't Easy":?, but it's home, and we're staying.:P

LOL....and you were mean....so here it is....but the laugh is on me -- I was taking a shower this afternoon, and looked out the window, and look what was outside (yes, it had already met it's demise, so I was able to at least get the shampoo out of my hair with out completely losing it).....and I forced myself to be a brave girl to get this close up just to torment YOU. although now when I see an ant, I'm ready to jump out of my skin.....:P

and this ain't nothing like Debbie's....

see ya in the AM -- maybe if your hose isn't spraying the house, yard, neighborhood and clear across the island we can go spider hunting....

LMAO....where on earth is that???? And just post your spider picture would you? This business of having to go out and get my own pictures is just not right.....i'm telling you -- the little ants have arrived (because despite what our weather woman tells us, there is no rain except at Pam and Chuck's which is almost on another island)....and I'm jumping right and left at every movement. One of the few good things about it being so cold at home is not a critter will be stirring, and for now, that's OK.....

lol...have we managed to turn the weather corner into creepy bug of the day corner?

P.s. -- thanks for taking that sweet ant pic down..... yup -- that's the pic I was talking about -- definately gross....even tho I'd already seen it, this picture makes my skin crawl....

Forgive my being mean....I didn't try to be!!!

Check out the beautiful moon tonight. I could and should be sailing to St. John right now but said no. I must be crazy. Yep, that must be it.
