I wrote words and words and words and more words in response to *someone* who told me I'd not been writing about the weather! And then...it just went away, as happens in the cyberether now and then. Now, to try to recreate all of that is impossible, so I'll go for the shorter version, perhaps much to the delight of my readers.

First, one thing noted is that the weather is calm, leaving Flamenco flat and perfect for a good day at the beach. Or a good afternoon...or evening. Life is quiet here now, so no doubt there is plenty of room to be private and tranquil. Another report was that on Tamarindo this morning the water was murky, no doubt from the winds of the previous three days. But the water is warming up, so a swim would be a fine thing to cool off the heat of the day.
There was a bunch more, but I think mainly it was about the sewer trench guys blocking or unblocking the roads here in my neighborhood. Guys just doing their jobs (and they do try to accomodate - moving machinary to let us in or out), but how good it will be when they move along. And tomorrow is Friday, when they stop early (rather than 9:30 at night) and go home for the weekend...glory!
I was going to try to go to Flamenco to photograph the flat stillness, but I can't get out of my yard at the moment...so instead I went to my trusty little dock. Now, I'll be the first to say, my bay is very beautiful but the water close in is far from the Caribbean ideal of clear blues. It's not. It's usually murky, even on the best of days. But since we are talking about still...still it is. Very very still.
This is a shot of the life under the water. The leaves you see are floating on top. It gets weirder, hold on.

so...as more returns to my brain (another murky place) some of what I wrote was about...it is quiet in ways, but not so quiet in other ways. As it's dry and driving is good, I suggest driving down the road of Genesis - the colmado heading out of town toward Zoni - to see what is going on there. And check out the hills as you drive between Dinghy Dock and Club Seabourne. And what is going on above Mary's house? So...it's not quite as quiet as you might think it is. Don't just question, find out what is going on...

This is one of those bizarre shots that I just can't resist sharing, because I can! I'm shooting off of my little dock, through the water to the lobsters who live and thrive below (shhh, they are babies and I will kick your butt if you try to disturb them). But the shot is all Alice like and because often on Culebra I feel like Alice...I'm gonna share.

I wish all your news was of better subject matter......please keep us informed as to what is going on --- it sounds like there are some ugly heads rearing themselves again....

BUT -- that is one COOL picture Alice!!!  The bay can't get much flatter than that -- time to go to Jost for lunch!!!

Actually, a couple of these projects have been going on a long time, one (out near the water house - Blue Horizon Realty site, for those of you who don't know the water house mention) since I've been here - six years - another at least a year and more. Sigh. Wake up, get up...la la lalala.

Yes...Alice and I are one. But Jost for lunch is a long, expensive time until lunch. Maybe soon.

sometime ask Lurker Dude about the day he, Kevin and I decided to take our boat to Vieques for lunch -- the morning was flat as a pancake.  I'll let him tell you the rest of the story....it's one of Kevin's favorites as well.

:)
