Just when I think the hot weather has settled in and there will be that gasping stillness for the next months, along comes a day like yesterday and it seems today as well when Spring proves she is still holding on. I've never known a Spring like this since I moved to the islands (and I've lived on a few). I don't know what it means for the upcoming H season, and I won't speculate. I am just going to enjoy every bit of it coming our way.

The little bits of rain we have gotten have stroked blossoms into opening that have not been seen for awhile in my yard. Glory!!

There are still lots of thirsty critters around ready for any bit of aqua that might come their way...

I hope it is raining at home as it is in the Big Island. The sound, the smell...and even the traffic in here once it rains...was a gorgeous treat for me. How beautiful it could be to have this rain in Culebra. Then, I don't have to be watering the garden so much.

OH, I just bought a strawberry plant that is growing here in the Big Island. It is just beautiful. If I can do it I'll send you a picture. Anyway, I ordered 5 more. They are $5.00, a bargaing since they actually have strawberries.

I am IN!!!! I'll take a couple of them if you have the chance to go back and get more. The last strawberry I had here I stole from...oh never mind, but it was wild, so no harm, no foul and it wasn't Culebra, so hush!

I wish all of you could come to STL and cart off some of the 8.5 inches above normal the spring has brought us.  I've cleaned up my river property twice, already, from floods that had it as much as 14 feet under water.

Yikes! But even for the entertainment of seeing you working, I don't think I'll make it to St. Louis
