The only color in today's forecast is from the sat picture, and that is colorful indeed. While there is some question of how much rain we'll get, there doesn't seem to be any question about our getting rain. Of course, we on Culebra have seen that blow out many times before, but hopefully we will get some rain from this tropical system heading to us from the southeast.

Right now there is much less wind than there was yesterday morning at this time and the forecast for mariners is fairly subdued, mainly concerned with the dueling fronts going on. The wind is expected to pick up, but nothing extraordinary is out there right now.

Along with the above, there is an invest in the Eastern Pacific region off of Guatamala. Will it weaken on hitting land or break through to the Yucatan? There isn't any agreement on that, but I do wonder if this season could start off much like last year. No doubt those on the East coast of Mexico feel it should be someone else's turn.
