While the predicted rain event seems to be slip sliding around, over and under us, the weather world is definitely in change mode. We have Alma as well as some impressive looking weather rolling off of Africa, which because of the time of year should not be of concern...except for being an early warning factor.
June 1 is tomorrow. Beside a big day for PR, it is, obviously, the *official* beginning of hurricane season. Time to look at your provisions: food, water, batteries, lighting supplies, gennies if you have one, fuel (propane tanks, best get them topped up now, before prices go up even more), medical supplies, house plans (shutters, etc.), and whatever your Plan B is if your home is not storm resistant. Boat owners should be checking lines, and where boats will be put in the event of a storm. Plans for pet owners (extra pet food etc.) As an incentive, buy what you need and can as early as possible. Unfortunately, food and fuel prices are only going to increase in the next months, including the most basic staples such os beans, rice, oil etc. Hopefully, you've been stashing a can or two here and there all year, but if not, now is the time. One suggestion I have is to buy by the case at Sam's or Costco's and split the cost among friends and/or families. It's MUCH cheaper to go that route on food and beverages, including bottled water.
There are many excellent hurricane preparedness check lists on line that can be googled and printed up. I'll try to dig up some of my old ones and post soon.
Our forecast has rain chances way down, even as the sat loop makes it look like we'll be rain soaked shortly. Well, as ever, if it comes, it comes. At this point I'm always ready to back off of wishing for rain...at least out loud
Happy Saturday! Don't forget tomorrow, X marks the spot!Attachment: Xspot.jpg (Downloaded 25 times)

great shot!!! diagionals always work well!!
it's sprinkling here -- not a ground soaking, which we really, really need, but enought that I won't have to water my new seedling babies twice a day until tomorrow.
