Being home with my stupid back, I'm spending WAY too much time on the computer, in between bed time with books (thanks Linda and Teresa! and a movie tonight thanks, Linda!). But I still didn't catch 91 being set up until now. I think it's more of a test run for the NHC which is fine with me, test out the equipment from last year and make sure it's all as good as it gets...but it does look like it will bring some nice, coveted rain to the lower islands in the chain.

It got really hot way too early this morning (visit from a friend checking in with oh thank you, tribute to the demon tobacco, which was a trip I was dreading...get dressed decently, get in car, groan, hobble into Panaderia, etc. come home moaning, bless you, Bike Guy!). I thought it must be at least after 11 and it was only half past 10...healing reminds me once again of Einstein's time theories, my own as well. Time is as elastic as silly putty and I never fail to marvel. But now, it is early for the cooling off, yet cooled off it has! Lovely.

Next door, where there is only a half shell of a Hugo home, a guy has put up a basketball hoop for the neighborhood kids. How can you knock that? Well, you can't, but I can. Even though I'm really glad it's there, and that the kids have something positive to do, my tranquil afternoon and evening time is gone. At least it is the sound of happy squabbling and laughter and it's all good. I guess it's a good thing that I haven't become selfish enough to go beat children having fun. Yeah, it's crossed my mind... :? But, really, very cool, the guy obviously spent his own bucks to buy a real basketball stand and hoop and they are loving it. So the next time you see a vacant space, think, what could the kids do there? Literally, from the night he put it up, they have been there every hour of the day until after dark. Our kids need good things to do. Even if they do have grumpy, noise selfish neighbors like me. I'll get some pics when I don't think I'll scare them hobbling over there.

Enjoy the evening weather! It's one of those hang outside times, get it while you can.

Will we get rain from this? Here's hoping...the general consensus is that it will die over Venezuela if it's not dying already. This is from one of the weather weenie sites I frequent...

I'm glad Bike Guy showed his kind, caring inner child.....did he bring you a breakfast sandwich?:D

I have a friend off to sail in the Newport/Bermuda race next week, and I was just laughing at him last night as all of a sudden he is finding himself glued to the weather......

Awww, Bike Guy is almost always nice to me, except when he isn't. But then, we excel at tossing barbs as another form of free entertainment.

No brekkie sandwich, which was fine. I think he knows I'm not real hungry right now. Anyway, he brought what I really wanted yesterday, liquid medication and mixers. Doctor Bike Guy!

I had a friend who used to sail that race (now gone to the big regatta in the sky). Yep, I'd be watching the weather real close if I were him. From the stories I've heard, it sounds like a fantastic time.
