And Happy Birthday, Michelle!!

Today is my oldest daughter's birthday, and it is also Father's Day. You don't even WANT to know that story (but it can be found on page 3 of the Tattler many years ago...just kidding).

What that means is no matter what the physical weather, it's all good today. Even if your BBQ gets doused with rain. Even if the wind carries away your paper plates. Even if you aren't planning any sort of celebration at all, you should, it's good to be alive and some father made this chance to enjoy this day possible for you. We all have or had a father. If yours is one of those great ones, lucky you, pass it along! If not, hopefully somewhere in your life there was a man who took on the role, even if for a short time. Calms the seas of life, the strength of a good father.

To my daughter, celebrating today on a beautiful lake in America with her family, and to my father, who taught me how find pictures in clouds, how to fish and sail, how to respect the earth by example rather than words, how to love & live through the storms, where ever he is (and today he's close by), I raise my mug of cambric tea in a quiet, thankful toast, glad for their being in my world, regardless of the weather.

(no pic today...my photo browser has gone on strike :() edit: oops! I forgot the power of google! This is Michelle in a business pic but looking a little bit naughty as I see it, but I bet her hair isn't that perfect today!

MJ,

It's a fine and rare peek into your heart to understand the great things your dad gave you and the joy you send to your beautiful daughter.

Happy whatever-makes-you-happy day to you and all my Culebra friends!
