Monday: Partly cloudy, with a high near 13. Wind chill values between -6 and -15. Breezy, with a west wind 8 to 11 mph increasing to between 25 and 28 mph.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around -2. Wind chill values between -11 and -21. West wind between 16 and 20 mph.

Hope you've got some socks to go with those flip flops! It is not fun returning to colder climates after such a glorious time in paradise, but I wish you safe travels.

Nice crab shot. . .

Having just seen Laurie, who won the SuperBowl half time pool at Mamacita's, she seemed quite UNCRABBY (thanks for the drink, chica!), I think she has figured out how to deal well with her last hours on Culebra. Hope that will be enough to keep warming thoughts in the SUB ZERO weather. Good lord....

LOL - would have liked to seen that! It's how I usually spend my last few hours on Culebra - lamenting my return to the real world! :D:D:D:D:D

I'm in Maine, and crabbier than the pic.....it's cold and miserable and everything is coated with ice.....but I must say it's so nice seeing all my critters.....

and the best part is I had Indy and 8 points with a friend, and the bet was airfare to Culebra.......

:))))))))))))))))))))

OK, this is not funny -- my car was frozen to death (literally), although in better shape than the one on the AAA towtruck that just showed up to jump my car back to life -- a car had spun on black ice and ended up in a pond.....

It's -3 (that is about 80 degrees colder than Island Woman).

Can someone remind me what I'm doing here????

No doubt in my mind you are doing what Debbie and I and every other Culebra loving soul is doing...a daily visit to Kayak.com to check airfares, no?

my day is just going downhill.....went to the lumber yard to buy cinder blocks to build some shelves with (hey, I'm still a hippie, and one that has a lot of island blood in her), and I had to take a rock to chip the 3 inches of ice off my rear bumper so I could open the hatch door.....life is really wonderful right about now....

however, Island Woman, before you make any comments.....I had a yummy crunch salad with mixed greens, 3 different kinds of sprouts, and juicy RED tomatoes for lunch, so take that!:P

Now who's being mean? That IS EXACTLY what I do the first few days I am home; fill up on greens!

Hmm. Crunchy mixed lettuces, 3 kinds of sprouts and a red tomato and frozen car, ice, -3 degrees vs. limited greens, no sprouts, tomatoes that never ripen and 75 degrees, sunshine, blue waters, frozen hielo in bags only...Enjoy your lovely salad, you deserve it!!! :)
