This trend northward is making us all happy.  Perhaps rain for DD in the Atlanta area?  Did you get any rain this past weekend?

I'll copy on the back of this happy news with more as Bertha continues a slight north west turn.

Unless I see something dramatic and drastic in the path of Bertha I'll leave you all to watch her for yourselves, as at present, it is looking good for us. That doesn't mean if you planned on going to shop for supplies you can let that ride...be prepared!!

This is the afternoon report out of SJ, not specifically Bertha related

Satellite images are showing a drier airmass moving over the local
region tonight but isolated showers could develop over the eastern
local waters and move onshore affecting the east and northeast
coastal sections. Similar conditions are expected to prevail
through at least Tuesday. Moisture associated to Tropical Storm
Bertha will begin to reach our region increasing the showers
across the entire region. Citizens are encourage to monitor this
system for the next 48 hours as Bertha moves closer to the Lesser
Antilles.

Again, Bertha is still to be taken seriously and shifts, as we all know, DO occur, so don't get complacent, and do keep an eye on her. Hence, the big picture, so you can see what is going on. Slightly north of the earlier position, it has NOT taken a direct northern turn,

This is the 5 p.m. public advisory, in part:
