I'm pretty sure I'll be solo traveling to the plaza on Culebra for New Year's Eve. Of course, having Susie as my *date* last year worked pretty well, so unless she falls in love or something absurd like that, I may go for the champagne walk with her again :)
But that is about 10 Culebra years away from right now, so who knows?

That'd be like 5 doggie years, right? What do you get if you divide doggie years by sato years?

Anyhow, one of the clear distinctions between being a Culebra visitor and being open some days closed others is the luxury of not having to constantly watch airfares. I'm jonesin'.

That would be the last time a guy asked me on a date.

Going out with a married guy who is funny, smart and safe is NOT a date, but it sure was fun!!! You can be my un-date any time (as long as it's not past 9, you know I turn into pumpkin girl then).
And, Ms. It's None of Your Business, we asked each other..(ok, I'm lying, I don't really remember, but I probably asked him).

Jonny's going to be here, Jonny's going to be here...my cheeks hurt from smiling! The first time he was here I ran out of propane and he was starting fires in the yard to make coffee (I still have the coffee sock he bought, since I didn't even have a coffee maker...I'd just gotten off years of boats and wandering...  think I had a plate and a fork...now, five years later, I have FOUR plates and uh..some forks he sent me)...I think I'm one or two steps up from fire in the hole...I have a coffee maker AND I know the propane guy!

Oops. That too happy for my sister flip flops spill-out might be a partial explanation of my solo life? Bless the un-dates!

Regarding New Year's, hate to break it to yas, but we are thinking about not coming for New Year's. The way it's going down is this:

* Group of our best diving friends book a trip for New Year's to Bonaire - one of our favorite places. They did this because we told them that we might not be going to Culebra for New Year's. Um, we didn't mean we weren't going around that time of the year, but just not for NYE.

* MacWorld always starts on the first Monday after first full week of the year, and Lewis, for the past three years, has cut short our NYE trip so that he can get back to Atlanta and fly out to San Francisco.

* Delta sux (even after emerging from bankruptcy) and no longer makes "cheap" frequent flyer tix available around ANY holiday.

So, looks like we're not going to Bonaire - too much of a hassle to get our scuba gear back from Culebra on such short notice; too long to be away from Culebra if we miss going in January; and mucho dougho (okay; it's not that expensive, but we're not used to spending money on lodging, food, vehicles AND diving).

Looks like we may go to Culebra after MacWorld - mid January and probably for two weeks or whatever dates Delta releases "cheap" FF tix, and then again for the obligatory March birthday trip.

That's our story.

Yes, of course I'll be breathing! Did you see the movie Happy Feet? Superimpose my face, put Jonny's as yet unknown face (there will be *selected pics*) over the Mexcian head honcho penguin and that should be a close idea.
All good, oh yeah.
Let's see, Jonny & Merri's visit, Juanito's wedding, Monika's baby shower...this should be a very interesting week.

They are leaving Friday the 25th (I'll let him leave, as is said in the VI's...Meh son, ya gotta go to come back). So if you see me at the cart, looking like I'm nodding off, it's not true...I'm just reading.

Shhh, they don't know about the wedding (met Randi's Mom, such a nice woman! all sorts of family are arriving and Culebra time is going on usual slow tilt - and she's handling it beautifully - "Randi, go have breakfast, you need to eat, Juanito, go to the beach, you need to swim" - wonderful Mom person!) or the shower yet (it's a girl thing, Jonny may just have to hang out with...JUANITO! but I was told he could be there, we'll see).
Unfortunately, Jorge is off island, so they won't get to experience Wiki's Sound Machine in full throttle...but that may be a good ting, mon!

And...since this IS supposed to be a weather thing...the skies have cleared (well, it's dark now but...). Today ended up a beautiful blue sky, fluffy cloud, high wind day. Weather freaks are watching weather off the Bahamas and little bits and pieces around the islands, but it doesn't look like anything for concern. There. My job is done.

Jonny - so sorry we're going to miss meeting you guys (probably only by a couple of hours). Lewis always likes to meet people from his hometown, especially a fellow MacHead. I hope you enjoy your time on Culebra. Leave some rum for us please. :P
