With the dust cleared away yesterday, the skies *that* shade of blue with a few clouds puffing around in the sky, the heat was on high, with a good breeze helping make it bearable.
Except for where we were, gathered for a baby shower - on a small resort's deck with a beautiful view, a gorgeous pool with frangipani blossoms afloat, but with water at...body temp, so not exactly refreshing, and a dozen or more women, half whom are at *that stage of life* (which makes *that* the word of the day for stoking imagination and/or memory). With rum punch, LOTS of bottled water, and the general joy of a group of friends playing hookey to give presents & blessings to the brilliant and beautiful mother to be, we somehow staggered through the heat until a wonderful overcast covered the sky, and the wind came right along with it.
Last night I turned off the fans as it was 79 degrees of great sleeping weather. This morning the sun is glaring off the water, with a bit a a breeze. With rain chances up (but likely not for us), some cloud cover would be a good thing, a little rain even better.

surely that woman is going to get fat one of these days?????? How the heck does she do that???? NO FAIR!!!!! But it looks and sounds like a fun, beautiful afternoon!!! What was the funniest gift -- I'm sure there were some great ones considering the parents-to-be.....

No, Monika will never get fat. Lucky for her, she's as beautiful inside as outside, so we don't have to hate her 
Funniest gift? The one she is holding in the picture, though exactly what was the really funny part, I missed in a moment of distraction.
Yes, considering the parents to be...well, she got this cute little cap for the baby, with an overhanging neck protector in the back...Monika's immediate comment was, oh good, the baby's first hat for weed whacking. The hat on Rebecca's head, just about perfectly fitting, was pretty good as well.
And then a little sensory cube that was supposed to have a green apple scent, but, unable to smell any green apples, we concluded was more Vinnie from Brooklyn scented...
And the plush smoking robes (ok, they aren't smoking robes...maybe apres poolside cabana robes) that we all wanted, a LOT, in adult sizes and Monika is sure Zach will try to order in his size. And those dome things with the mobiles and music? The kid doesn't stand a chance, we are taking them for the next parties for a mood room.
It was a good time had by all.
