when he came right up to my window around 5:30, crowing like a banshee from hell (I just hosed him instead...AFTER I took the picture).

The sky is now cloudy grey. After a generally cloudy, breezy day yesterday, we had a little rain in the night, but not much. It looks to be more of the same today. Don't forget the sunscreen, those rays are still out there!

I was just sure you were going to write that the new owners at Posada had discontinued the free night reward for roostercide.  Any word on those folks?  Have you met the new owners at Palmetto?

I've met the manager of Posada, but not the owners. And nope, haven't met the Palmetto owners either. But I don't get out much these days...no smokee, no drinkee in bars except on rare occasions. But truthfully, they could drive by me fifteen times and I wouldn't know who they are...and they probably have!

where's the rooster picture???? Believe it or not, my neighbors through the woods here have chickens and roosters, so I get to hear them from afar -- it always brings back good memories, but I will confess that I don't miss them right under my window......

This particular rooster and I go back a long way...he knows exactly how far the hose water reaches (I had him there for awhile when I bought a longer hose, AHA! Now...he's savvy to it)...and how well I can throw a rock (not very). He knows when I'm coming out to *greet* him and he runs away...crowing. Then he sneaks up to the window again and crows. Literally, he is doing it right now. Of course, usually by now I'm gone to the cart, but he must know I'm still here.
I'll try to get a picture, but I might forget and throw the camera at him.

Ok. Lest you think I jest...he was right outside the door when I came out with the camera. I took two steps, he took seven *CROW CROW*. I took four steps...he went into camo hiding *CROW CROW* Right now he's at the bottom of the yard by the water. Bastard (I mean that in the most literal sense, of course)!
