Today is one of those days that you could read every bit of every forecast and discussion, and watch the radar until it blurs and not know what you would know better with your eyes closed.
The wind is gusting, as it did all night, in untimed waves that rattle the trees and screens, causing papers to fly around inside and the water to be choppy even at the top of this little bay. All anchors should be securely settled in unless you want to find your boat somewhere you didn't leave it, because through tomorrow, it's supposed to continue building in strength, and it seems to be doing just that.
It's cool, 72, and overcast but not at all gloomy out as the sun breaks through over and over with clouds scudding by in fast succession. It's instant caffiene jolt air - enjoy!

As predicted, we are getting short time rain squalls. I closed the cart around 1 this afternoon...no business except chatting and a woman who I was holding something for from a couple of days ago, plus holding on to a dog while the owner checked out the new library, which had its Grand Opening today (Definitely something to check out, by the way...it's in a trailer right past the Fire Dept. building and there is a very impressive selection of books, plus a children's room - which even had two children lying on the floor reading when I finally got in there, unposed and as good an advert as I could imagine. Volunteers can sign up - check with Nadine) with a fairly steady parade of visitors and a serious amount of delicious sweet nibbles on hand.
I'd like to say I was clever enough to have closed because I knew rain was coming but it just seems that way. Somewhere between 1:30 and 2 the first squall blew through,  continuing on and off up to the present moment. Good thing Greg has his foul weather gear on for his Night Sail! All I know is it was a wonderful afternoon for sleeping.

This is the last visible squall moving up the bay before dark thirty. I think it looks almost snowy...or as close as I want to get to that look.

Just so you know that it is not genetic, this part of me that can't handle cold weather...here is my daughter Sarah and her boyfriend Dan out on the west coast of America, enjoying being cold (she knitted those hats, obviously another sign of gene mutation).

Thats a great picture of Dan and Sarah, I like the antique effect, kinda like they just came off the boat from Latavia and happily found a leaf for dinner. Dan had trimmed his goatee when we saw him after Thanksgiving, but he is still just as COOL!

I hoped you wouldn't mention the old country...you know how it makes me cry and miss my beet soup...oh wait, that's why we moved to the land of milk and honey (before the cows dried up and the killer bees...never mind, but I still feel bad about our old monkey).

MJ said, and I quote,
I still feel bad about our old monkey.
A least he still has his Stratocaster; a junkie stole mine while I was keeping our shores safe for oligarchy.

Get over it...I'm not paying your zoo bail again.

Edited despite my delight over Jim becoming a bit queasy when I had to stomach Harley Man and didn't bat an eyelash!

Here you go...Curious George pondering the universe in a bubble - gee what does he see in there???

Before that it was an enchanting thread. MJ is your kid
as cool as that picture. It looks like something out of the
70's

Here's the Rickster and family

Very cool families, all around. Will Sarah and Rickster one day inherit cart/weather blog and journalism/maitre d'/kayak responsibilities?

WOW!!  I don't get on here for a couple days and look what happens......Monkey Children!!!  I have to agree with Jim here, I found the thread fascinating, except for the boy and the monkey head.  But then again, if you can't handle having your stomach flip-flop before breakfast, you shouldn't be reading this forum!!:D

MJ, your daughter is so beautiful and looks JUST like you!!  Very awesome picture of her and her man!  I imagine the pic is taken in San Francisco, just because of the whole vibe, but maybe not?

Jim, your son and his family are beautiful also and really do look so happy!  They obviously don't live in Ohio, huh?:D
