Lucky for me, the phones were out, hence no internet to make a fool of myself with a forecast as I would have said something like, maybe a little rain. NOT the downpours we experienced about four times today, once in the middle of a sale at the cart (it was worth getting soaked, obviously). Hooray for the drenching, to wet the ground and bless the gardens, to fill the cisterns, to keep fire threats at bay.

A tale of two tourists -
Tourist No. 1 - We've been here three days and it's rained the whole time! I didn't expect....(yadda yadda yadda). When I suggested that rain is the reason god invented bars - without mentioning that 'rained the whole time' would be a bit of an exaggeration, even for myself, the queen of exaggeration - she replied I shouldn't blame god for that. I decided not to say I THANK god for that...(weirdly, the little shower I knew was coming in a few minutes instead was complete cats and dogs - hmmm, go figure).
Tourist no. 2 - Honey, get me another drink and some fries while we wait this out. Looks like you all needed the rain! (later, I encountered them on the way to the airport - her hands and knees covered in mud...she laughed and said she fell down and lucky for her! the place they were headed has showers!) By the way, this couple was on a honeymoon island hop trip - they met on eharmony, married a year ago on Tortola and were really great; funny and pretty damned adorable. Cheers to you two! Long life and joy.

It is now sunny and almost blue skies. Finally dried off here, I'm not chittering my teeth and will revert back to shorts instead of the long pants I put on. I didn't find a rainbow yet, but hopefully, someone did! Will it rain like that again? Heck if I know (that's why they pay me the big bucks).

Here's looking at you, kid!

I have never seen pink spotlights on the moon before...I thought that was something they did in the states for grand openings. I like Culebra grand openings better.

LOL...I guess I was too intent on THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS going to the SUPERBOWL AGAIN!!!:D to notice my beautiful suroundings......great shots.....and blessed rain indeed -- looks like we have some more headed our way -- we can do our rain dances under the moonlight...it was SO nice to see rain today (and this from the girl that has to face reality all too soon).......the green just pops out, the peepers were singing in glory on the way home, and the earth soaked in that wonderful mostiture.

no fires tonight....we can all sleep easily.....

Seen her today? :D

It would be even funnier if she were one of the persons "stranded" by the lack of flights today. Oh, what I would do to be stranded on Culebra in the rain. . .hopefully with a sweatshirt and a pair of socks!

I won't see anyone today unless they wander into my yard! I figure later maybe my friend who gets cabin fever about the same time as myself and I will take a drive around to check things out...
