Informed sources report the following regarding last night's fun caroling session.....watch for repeat performances! Please vote in the poll above.

As reported by Jackie of Casa Ensenada

Christmas happens in paradise.

Last night we met for caroling. After 6 years we are getting it together. Now we know we have to have music to read (the first few years we didn't and ended up singing the first line of the song then humming the rest), flashlights to read the music, and lots of people.

We start at the plaza 'cuz this is the heart of town, however few people are there - most are at home with families or singing with us. So we sing to us or anyone who is listening.

We always go to the seniors home and Kathy lets us into the lobby through all the locked doors and gates (so the elders don't wander out or get lost by mistake) then one or two will peek out of their rooms then close the doors again. We feel good singing here because we are in a confined space and the music sounds terrific! It is probably better for our benefit than the old folks.

Last year Johanna joined us inside, then tried to blend in the crowd as we left - but she was caught. She was in the middle of a crowd of singers. She didn't blend in well I guess - maybe it was the wreath that she wore as a necklace. :-)

Then we wander down the street singing a song to any house that has lights on. Sometimes there were people at the house too.

We were a large group this year so the first of the group starts a song and it is over by the time the last of the group catches up - but they sing along too - sometime a different song.

We also have a language problem - not Spanish as you would expect. "Adeste Fedelis, Laeti triumphantes, venite, venite ... " yet others joined with, "Oh Come All Ye Faithful ..." were we singing in English, French or Latin?

Our last stop is Dinghy Dock. Diners and bar patrons stop to listen to our flowing tones and Neil offers us a free drink perhaps to stop the noise. :-)

That's great! I can just see Johanna trying to blend in with her wreath necklace and straw hat with the Swiss flag. Which man was she trying to latch on to? I always have to be ready to rescue Lewis when she's around. Well, he is a handsome man. . .
