Amazingly this picture was taken in a flyover on the 4th of July.
There was virtually no activity at the resort. I wonder what happened
to the Condo owners, you would think they would show up.
In the foreground, just to the left of the sailboat at the dock, is
Playa Pata Negra or translated to English approx. "Blackfoot Beach"
Actually it's a local joke because if you don't know any better and
step into the water your foot sinks in a foot or more of black oily sludge.
You need to take some hankies and some alcohol with you so you don't
track this stuff into your car or boat. If you don't have alcohol handy,
Murphy's Oil Soup works, and so does diesel fuel. One tourist told me
they tried to cover up the smell with Cocoa Butter but the two smells
didn't combine well and you can imagine the rest. BlackFoot Beach,
its legendary, and no my kayaks are not allowed there either.

I think maybe the condo owners are still trying to get out of the Costa Bonita mud?
;)

There is a small patch of white to the left, apparently this is
all that is left of the gazillion tons of sand they brought in
to try and make a beach. Playa Pata Negra won!

Apparently something is going on at Costa Bonita...I ran into a nice guy today at the market, buying a couple of dozen bell peppers, frozen fries, and frozen tostones, with lots and lots of plastic cups. I said, Oh, looks like a party to me, and he said, I'm in charge of the food and bar for Costa Bonita's event tonight. So being the intrepid reporter that I am, I persisted in my inquiries and found out the poor guy was going to be cooking the food as well as being the bartender for the event. I wished him well. I wished him some help.
Class act, as usual, per Costa Bonita standards.
