The kids' from Abbie's school had the second showing of their play last night - Under the Sea, about a sea turtle trying to find its birth beach and encountering many creatures of the sea as well as man made dangers on the journey. It was a great play, with a well chosen mix of Spanish and English. The kids were amazing and often very funny.
A couple of times it seemed as if children were flying everywhere and no one photo can do it justice...well done, and no one got hurt!
There was one boy playing a great white shark who pretty much stole the show momentarily with his chirrups of exasperation as he would forget a line or fumble a bit. He was hilarious without intention and plowed right on through, refusing to give up, with total panache. Salut!
Helena was a wonderful sea turtle, working without a net (no pun intended) for the most part - her lines almost all memorized.
Once again, well done! Congrats to all the kids, teachers, parents and volunteers who made it possible.

More flying children...(yes, they look like they are being manhandled but in reality they were smoothly tumbling along at a very good clip)

Great report on a wonderful event.  It makes me wonder how much more I could have done and appreciated about our planet, had I been raised with these kids' exposure instead of stumbling onto it in my 40s.  These kids rule!
