I love the article on the children learning, playing and enjoying chess and checkers. My grandson, age 8, has started playing chess (mainly with his Dad right now) and loves it enough that he asked for a chess set for his birthday present! Beats Nintendo, or whatever is being played these days by a quite a few miles.
So this year if anyone here gets asked (and we always do) what can I bring you from the states? how about saying - one of those inexpensive combo chess/checker sets for the school kids (maybe you know or are a distributor of games and could get a wholesale pricing on a few sets, or you have a game box stacked in the closet, or you see one at a yard sale?)
We'll be happy to direct anyone bringing a set to the right place or person to deliver it or we'll do it for you if you drop it off at my cart or BarbraRosa's restaurant.
