unfortunately, I just didn't have a lot of time to spend with Doug, but Admin hopes he made it home safely, and is not too sad.

Word is a travel day from hell. Um, make that two days. Mechanical problems delayed him out of SJU; missed his connection in Philly, and had to spend the night. Ick! :(

I'm sure he misses us too - or maybe just the chickens. . .:D

I'll be fine when I get some sleep!  I'm at work, trying to find my panaderia-enlarged ass with both hands.  Flight scheduled for 545 finally got out of SJU at 1045. That was one minute after my connecting flight left Philly for St.L.  We landed at 1230am and my voucher for a "Quality" Inn in Jersey only allowed me 2.5 hours of sleep after waiting for 80 minutes for the shuttle in the 30 degree Philly air in my shorts, sandals and nylon shell.

The silver lining was that I spent most of that time at my former Isla Verde hangout, La Playita.  Once his late afternoon flight was actually able to get into Isla Grande (unscheduled squall detour to Fajardo), I was joined by friend Orlando for a couple brewskis and a Cheeseburger in Paradise.  BTW, new management there has a made some not-for-the-better changes; no Presidentes, no coconut water, but it was a great vantage point to watch the sea in her squally changeable self.  I'll get time in the next couple days to look at my pix and I'll post any that might interest.

Laurie, it was our mutual loss that you are on a deadline.  You need to have a heart-to-heart with your boss.  I do miss you all, already.  Those who are still on-island need to get over to Bahia Marina tonight for a dose of Lewis, aka Gr8teful Dude.

One thing I won't miss a bit is what I plan to lose on my diet, begun this morning.  I pigged out while there, and now it's back to sensible eating and exercise!  BTW, it was 72 here yesterday and 70something today. On Friday it was 6 degrees.  I'm taking credit for bringing it home...

More later.

Dougie

Nah, but I will be tonight, just because.  By wednesday, winter returns.  Dang, I'd love to kayak this weekend.

Glad you are home safe and somewhat sound. I think I flew that flight before...All Screwed Up and No Where to Go. Sorry a good dive has gone off, I hate it when that happens!
You should frame those shorts. I know how much you wanted to walk out of the plane into WARM weather with them on!
While you are waiting to come back, here is an afternoon shot I got of your next arrival to Culebra...if you're really, really lucky.
