This may be posted somewhere but...don't forget the triathalon today! Starts around Ronnie's house, goes down past the old school and to the ferry dock...running, biking, swimming.
Supposedly starting at 2...come support those crazy people who think that sort of thing is fun to do

No doubt those who participated need a nap as well. It was WAY big fun, the Culebra I fell in love with. Lots of spectators, and some fantastic entrants.
The kids were incredible!!! I don't have all the names of the winners, except Helena who won the young kids group. Swimming seemed to be the theme of the day for winning. Laurie, who jumped in after Stephanie in the women's group, tore off a huge win on the swimming part, including swimming quite a bit off course, correcting and still winning by a good margin.
The guys were awesome! But truly, the scene stealing moment was Mario, who pedaled in after all the rest of the guys were well out on their way to the buoy marker. And I do mean pedaled in....right off the dock into the water. I didn't get the shot but I met a guy who did and he's sending it along...he has an awesome camera, but I was shooting the guys in the water and wouldn't have caught it anyway. Very funny! And after he's in, he comes up sans bike to comb his hair. Crowd pleaser indeed.
A wonderful few hours on a perfect afternoon for running, biking, swimming. Well done!!!!
Here are a few pics I did get. I've heard it said that Abbie walks on water, but truthfully, I didn't believe it until today. Now we all have proof!!

Monika and Zach doing stretching exercises. Actually, Monika was doing exercises and I embarrassed Zach into joining her. It was painful to watch.

This boy, to me, typifies the whole event. This was the bike transition stage for the young participants. His face and body attitude says it all. All of the kids were so wonderful!

Well, something is going wrong with my server, so there are more pics, but I can't upload them right now. At least a taste for now...the rain is slowly dripping down, the party across the bay got a damper (the one I swear I will crash every year...anyone who hires tents has got to have some awesome food!). I figure, if I must be kept awake with great live music and people laughing and having fun every year...I should be welcome to crash this at least once. One year...oh yeah, I said that last year too, didn't I??

Ok, back on track here...there were MANY volunteers, as well as medical and police help at the ready. Parents, friends, officials...safety was under control and professional was the key word. Everyone was ON.

And while grace may not be the theme of his diving, this man runs like a gazelle and must bike pretty fast as well...he came in so far ahead of anyone else, we were wondering if he'd set up a road block for the rest of the guys...
A lot of fun. Yes...THIS is Culebra. Next year, more participants, more spectators, more fun.

LOL...I just saw zach, and he says that picture you made him pose for almost killed him......
laurie is the talk of the town how well she did even swimming off coarse.....but it sure sounded like everyone had a great time!!!!
