Preserving the environment, history and culture…

We are grateful to the volunteer efforts of so many people through financial donations, or donations of time, materials, labor and love of Culebra’s heritage, and are happy to report that the new Museum, located in the historic 1905 building, just up the hill from the cemetery on the left, is nearly finished. The Museum features many historical artifacts from Culebra, including Taino artifacts along with hundreds of old photographs and maps of Culebra.

These buildings are a vital part of Culebra’s heritage and culture, and we encourage you to visit the museum, but also consider helping in one of the following ways:

• Helping to sponsor a upcoming project of publishing a book of more than 150 pictures historical pictures of Culebra
• Giving up some of your time for activities designed and sponsored by the Foundation.
• Buying our t-shirts ( 100% of the money goes to the Foundation) at La Cava
• Share with the Foundation anything you consider valuable to the island’s history such as photographs, artifacts, oral traditions or other.
• Giving financial support and/or getting some of the things we needed from our wish (needed) list for the Museum.

Preservando el Ambiente, la Historia y Cultura…

La Fundación quiere informar que las puertas del museo se abrirán gracias a un grupo dedicado de voluntarios que a través de donaciones de dinero, materiales, tiempo, trabajo y amor, motivados por el orgullo por nuestra herencia e historia , lo han hecho realidad.  El edificio en piedra localizado luego del cementerio, con el año 1905 en la puerta, esta casi terminado. En el mismo se exhibirán muchos artefactos históricos, artefactos taínos y cientos de fotos y mapas antiguos de Culebra.

Estos son elementos vitales de la herencia y cultura de Culebra y queremos promover que nos visiten en el museo y se envuelvan con nosotros contribuyendo de alguna forma.
 
¿Cómo puedes contribuir?
• Ayudando a patrocinar el libro de fotos históricas (sobre 150 fotos) que queremos publicar.
• Dando de tu tiempo en aquellas actividades que diseña y patrocina la Fundación.
• Comprando nuestras camisetas (100% del dinero va para la Fundación) en La Cava.
• Si tienes algo que identifiques como valioso para nuestra historia como fotos, objetos, obras, hallazgos arqueológicos, tradiciones orales, etc, compártelas con la Fundación.
• Con donativos económicos y/o donando cosas que necesita el Museo.
